Reapption ("we", "us", "our") operates the Reapption mobile application and website at reapption.net. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and display name. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Videos and reactions: When you upload videos or record reactions, we store the video files on our content delivery network (CDN). This is core to the app's functionality.

Camera and microphone: The app accesses your device camera and microphone to record reaction videos. This only occurs when you actively choose to record.

Usage data: We collect anonymous analytics events (page views, recording starts, upload outcomes) to improve the app experience. These are not tied to individual user accounts.

Device and network information: We log IP addresses for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and security purposes.

4. Sponsored Content

Reapption may display sponsored banners and cards within the app and on the website. Every sponsored item is clearly labelled "Sponsored".

When you view, tap, or dismiss a sponsored item, we record an anonymous event containing the ad identifier, your IP address, your user agent string, and the page or feature where the ad appeared. These events are used to measure the performance of sponsored content; they are not joined to your account profile.

We do not use third-party ad networks, advertising SDKs, the Android Advertising ID, or any form of cross-app tracking. We do not share your data with advertisers. Sponsored content is not targeted to you based on personal characteristics.

Tapping a sponsored item opens an external link in your default browser. The destination website has its own privacy practices we don't control; review their privacy policy before sharing information with them.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time:

When you delete your account, we permanently remove all your personal information, videos, and reactions from our servers and CDN. This action cannot be undone.

Temporary files (uploads in progress) and expired authentication links are automatically cleaned up every 30 minutes.

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption via Cloudflare). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Our server is protected behind Cloudflare's proxy with the origin IP hidden.

7. Public Content

Videos marked as "public" are visible on the public feed to all users and visitors. You can change a video's visibility to private at any time from your dashboard. Reactions to public videos may be visible to the video's sender.

8. Children's Privacy

Reapption is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete that information promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Reapption after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
